A poem by Sean Toomer.
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the office,
Every damn creature was stirring, even glum Doris.
The invoices were snapped, into Receipt Bank with care,
In hopes we’d get done, before more clients swear!
The accountants were nestled, chained to their desks,
With nightmares of furlough, scaringly grotesque!
And Boris in his Kerchief, and us on our knees,
Please don’t announce new rules, FOR GOD SAKE PLEASE!
When out on the roof, there arose such clatter,
A client with a Bounce Back loan, fancies a natter.
Away to the window, I flew like a flash,
Supporting clients this year, made me addicted to hash!
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
Gave the lustre of midday to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But small business clients, clutching beer!
This year has been shit, really bloody shit,
But small business clients, they took the hit.
Some have gone under, but most have survived,
Thank god for their courage, some even thrived!
We love our jobs, and wouldn’t change it for the world,
Thanks to you all, for our fortunes have pearled.
You’ve battled this storm with incredible might,
Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
Lots of love, the Diverso Team
